Growth opportunities
Sabor Latin Street Grill is an independent, family-owned restaurant that puts our employees’ growth first, offering competitive benefits, training and education in a fun and energetic environment. We give our employees the support they need to succeed in their roles and grow into leadership positions, either in management or as a store owner-operator. Our goal is to make sure every employee has the opportunity to thrive, so we can become a stronger team together.
Marco Gonzalez
- Starting Position: Assistant Manager
- Current Position: Interim Operations Manager
Within Sabor, hard work pays off more than other operations. I have moved through multiple positions and had different responsibilities, including opening and establishing procedures at new stores, operating a store as an owner-operator and overseeing multiple locations. I was rewarded for the results I produced, but the path was made easier thanks to the training opportunities I was given along the way. Sabor focuses on giving our employees the tools needed to continue to grow in our professional careers, and to me, that is the highlight of our company culture.
Pedro Lopez
- Starting Position: Assistant Manager
- Current Position: District Manager
I enjoy working for a company that sees you not only as an employee, but as a whole person, and Sabor is that. I love that Sabor sees potential in me. My superiors noticed my passion and drive, eventually promoting me within and coaching me along the way. As I got higher up in the company, I was provided with leadership training that helped me grow as an employee and help others take a step up in their positions too. This company is like a family. We all help each other out when needed.
Ada Antonio Sanchez
- Starting Position: Line Cook
- Current Position: Shift Leader
I like working at Sabor because the flexible scheduling, you get a free meal per shift, and they make sure you are satisfied with the position you are in, and mainly because they promote within the company. The company culture is simple yet rare. We are family and we make sure to help one another. To me, the food, the coworkers, and the owners are what make Sabor a good place to be. They make sure you’re comfortable, and they are big on the F.A.B (Fresh, Authentic, Bold) and we, the employees thrive on that.
Luis Casella
- Starting Position: Prep Cook
- Current Position: General Manager
The company has helped me grow into the job that I currently hold thanks to its training which has helped me reach a higher performance. I like working for Sabor because I love to teach others about food from other countries, and what I like most about the company’s culture is that we can grow as individuals since we have opportunities here.
Employee accommodations
When we employ a person, we look at the whole person. We’re receptive to any needs our employees share with us, including but not limited to housing, childcare, food and nutrition, early education and emotional wellness. We believe that addressing “nonwork” needs helps our employees better thrive in their careers.
We also advocate for our employees in the various boards Raydal Hospitality Group—Sabor’s parent organization—sits on. These boards include Leading On Opportunity, Charlotte Bilingual Preschool, Social Serve and The Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Foundation through Foundations for the Carolinas. Through community advocacy, we help elevate the needs of our employees who face unique inequities and lack access to essential resources.
Workplace Culture
Our F.A.B. (Fresh, Authentic, Bold) Commitment guides our workplace culture. The work stays fresh and fast-paced, and we promote a welcoming environment where our employees can be their authentic selves and make bold moves for their careers. We work together as a close-knit team, learning from one another and encouraging cross-training between various roles. Come to Sabor ready to learn, grow and immerse yourself in the Latin American culinary experience!
